BACKGROUND MATERIAL:
Born on Deneb IV as a little "extra" child to a three-member family (four 
if you count the cat), Darrick has spent most of his life walking in the 
footsteps of his big brother. Same schools, same areas of interest, and 
mostly the same good grades, especially in theoretical studies. He followed 
his brother into the Starfleet Academy, and has been doing well academically. 
However, he is something of a loner, and does not make new friends easily. 
It's not that he isn't interested in people (he has a "passive" interest 
in psychology), it's more that he does not wish to experience emotional 
troubles. This leads from his childhood, when the family had to live in 
many different places, and he was never able to have friends for an 
extended period of time.

PSYCHOLOGICAL PROFILE:
As noted above, tends to shield himself from emotional attachments. Has 
learned to cover it up somewhat over the years, but long-term acquintances 
are bound to notice it sooner or later. Appears very rarely in social 
events of any kind, except perhaps those involving his hobbies.

HOBBIES/INTERESTS:
Psychology, history (esp. Earth and Klingon), music and various computer 
and holodeck "role" games.
