Historical Background: 
From the moment that Miranda Price was born, she was groomed for the 
family "business". The buisness was taking things apart and putting them 
back together. As early as she could remember she was taking her toy's 
apart and making new ones. It come to no suprise that she was "gifted". 

Both mother and father were in the sciences, she a Marine and he and 
Engineer with Yoyodine, in the Reasearch Divison. Growing up was hard on 
the young Miranda, being the awkward shy kid throughout childhood. "Geek" 
was not an uncommon word when other people described her. It wasn't until 
after she had graduated from Highschool, that she blossumed into a 
beautiful woman with a mind like a steel trap. Quick witted and often 
termed as "flighty", she passed her Academy Entrace Exam on the first 
try. 

This is when she came into her "own". Around Campus she was known for 
not only being able to keep up with the strict courses set forth in the 
Adavanced Engineering Course and keeping up with the night life. This 
has caused her more trouble than she had expected. Though it didn't keep 
her back from persueing and gain a Masters Degree in Advanced D-Warp 
Design and Theory and a Minor in Starship Design. Like any woman her age 
she had dreams and goals. And at the time it seemed that any time she 
would try and form a relationship, it would utterly crash and burn. For 
some reason she couldn't use her train in advanced warp design to help 
herself out with her seemingly failing personal life. She know's that 
the time will come when that special one will come around, but she's not 
holding her breath. She has things to do and places to see. 

In her senior year at the Academy, she caught the eye of the Director of 
Utopia Planatia. It's wasn't more than 48 hours after she stepped of the 
Graduation Plateform than she was given orders to join on of the advanced 
research team, at the ship yards. It was like a dream come true for the 
still young Ms. Price. Later she would be given her own Department as 
she was transfered to the USS DIABLO, an Interpid 2 class test-bed 
Starship as Chief Engineer. Here she would learn to think on the fly and 
become one of the best Starfleet has seen in some time. Like most 
engineers, she's a big admirer of Capt. Montgomery Scott, and had 
anything and everything related to the subject, in various book form. 

In 2411 she found herself promoted to full Lieutenant and served aboard 
the DIABLO until just recently were the orders came through for her to 
take over as Chief Engineer of the USS ALLIANCE. She'd heard allot about 
the ALLIANCE and can't wait to see what challanges await. .

"...it never ceases to amaze me how someone so bright and gifted could 
be so clumsy. For the fifth day in a row...[sigh] I have treated 
Lieutenant Price for cuts and bruises to the head and arms. This has to 
come to an end. I can't seem to find a way to keep her out of sickbay 
short of keeping her here. And that wouldn't help. She' d just try to
